The Garment Is Never the Whole Story.
Most fashion is photographed. Sorrow is filmed. There is a difference, and it is the entire point.
A photograph shows you what something looks like. A film shows you what something feels like to become. The hand that starts a stitch. The fabric before it knows what it will be. The slow unbearable patience of something being made correctly instead of quickly.
We do not think of film as a way to sell the clothes. We think of the clothes as one part of something larger that happens to also include film.
The World We Are Building
Sorrow Films is not a description of our clothes. It is a description of the world we live in, and an invitation for you to come live in it too.
It is for the ingenue. For the maverick. For the woman who loves art the way she loves whimsy, without needing one to explain the other.
Watching one is not meant to inform you. It is meant to pull you sideways, into a dreamspace that already belongs to you, you simply have not stepped into it yet.
Not a Campaign. Not Content.
There is no product shot waiting at the end of a Sorrow film. There was no call to action. If you finish watching and you are not entirely sure what you just saw, that is correct. That is the intention.
We are not interested in showing you a garment being worn well. We are interested in showing you a world where a garment like this could exist at all. The clothes are almost incidental. What matters is the atmosphere they come from.

What Is Coming
Our first films are currently being made. They will not look like fashion films. That is deliberate.
There is nothing to watch yet. When there is, it will not be announced with noise. It will simply appear here, and you will either feel it or you will not.
